French born Olivia Canolle is a concert pianist, accompanist and teacher, based in Reading. She holds degrees from the Conservatoire National de Region of Rueil-Malmaison, Paris and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. She made her debut in 1993 with a performance of the Beethoven 4th Piano Concerto at the Nuits Pianistiques Festival, Aix-en-Provence and has since performed in solo and chamber music in UK, France, Germany, Holland, Italy and Switzerland.


In Paris, Olivia studied piano solo with Denis Pascal and Gorgy Sebok as well as piano accompaniment with Angeline Pondepeyre. She gained her Premier Prix and Prix d'Excellence with honours. In 1999, she was awarded with the prestigious Bourse Lavoisier from the Ministere des Affaires Etrangeres, Paris and joined the Postgraduate Piano Course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London. Here, she studied piano solo with Ronan O’Hora, David Dolan, Nelly Ben'Or and piano accompaniment with Graham Johnson and Eugene Asti. She completed her Master's Degree in Music Performance in July 2001, and also, won various prizes in several competitions including, the Karic International Piano Competition, the Sucy-en-Brie Piano Competition, the Jean Francaix International Competition, the Devetsy Piano Competition and Percy Turnbull accompanist Prize.


Her passion for chamber music has led her to collaborate with many distinguished musicians. She made her debut at the Wigmore Hall with the soprano Kate Royal in 2001 and she has since appeared with Adrian Thompson, Chloe Hanslip, Philippe Pierlot, Laura Oomens, Darrell Forkin, Laurence Perkins, Alan Hacker, Victoria Soames Samek, Michiko Kobayashi, Gudrun Olafdottir.


Olivia is also an accompanist and coach in great demand. For the last twelve years, she has been working as a staff accompanist at the Guildhall School of Music in both Junior and Senior Departments. She enjoys working with all instruments and voices, as well as all ranges of ages and levels. She has also worked in Summer Courses such as Dartington, AIMS, Abingdon, Flaine and made recordings for the ABRSM.


Olivia currently teaches piano at Pangbourne College where she is Head of Keyboard and at St Andrew's Preparatory School, Buckhold. She is also committed to bringing music to the local community and regularly offers workshops for younger children with music, movements and art.
