Kate Addis Double Bass


Born in Reading, Kate studied double bass at Birmingham Conservatoire and at Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since then she has worked with a variety of UK orchestras including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Concert Orchestra, London Concert Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Northern Ballet, Orchestra of the Swan and Orchestra of St John’s.


As well as performing with orchestras Kate has also worked with artists such as Chris De Burgh, Roger Daltrey, Alice Cooper, Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel.


More recently, Kate has also had the opportunity to work overseas with Symphony Orchestra India in Mumbai, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Norway and RTE Symphony Orchestra, Ireland.


Kate has a keen interest in music education and has worked in numerous schools across Berkshire as a bass teacher.  In 2010 she gained a PGCE and has worked extensively in primary schools as a class teacher and music workshop leader.  Since 2013 she has been a bass coach for National Children’s Orchestras.
